Should you watch it?

Watch it if you love paranoid political thrillers where the tension builds from unsettling dreams and a conspiracy you can't quite name, and you enjoy the sharp, controlled direction of Cold War-era craft.

Skip it if you need brisk pacing, since it lingers on talky political scenes and its 1960s dialogue and staging can feel stiff to modern eyes.

What it asks of you: Two hours of patience for a slow, jittery build, and close attention to a tangled political chain that rewards you for keeping up.

But Six hours of dramatized reenactment and talking-head interviews woven together — deliberately unresolved and demanding, not a quick watch.

But Black-and-white, low-budget 1950s pacing, and the metaphor is blunter than the political specificity you get in Manchurian Candidate.

A vacant male model gets hypnotized into becoming an assassin programmed to kill a head of state — yes, it's the Manchurian Candidate plot, played entirely for stupid, gleeful comedy.

But It's broad, dumb fashion-world satire with zero interest in menace or ideas — pure silliness, no substitute for the real tension.
