Become a VIP.

Sarita is free, and the parts that matter stay free: tracking what you watch, rating it, and sharing it with the people you watch with. VIP is for the evenings nobody can decide. It reads what you and your Watch Buddies have all liked and writes you a pick, with the reasons. Picks built from what you both like, as many as you need. No adverts.

Sarita will carry advertising. That is how a free site with a hundred thousand pages pays for itself. VIPs see none of it.

How often you pay

4 months free, 33% off

Individual

$32/year

Just you.

Family Best value

$48/year

You and 4 others. Not a household: the people you actually watch with.

$16 more than Individual, and 4 people come with you.

Prices include VAT where it applies. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see your card. Cancel any time; you keep VIP until the period you have paid for runs out.

What a VIP recommendation looks like

An example: Sarah, Jim and Ana aren’t real people

Sarah liked SuccessionJim watchlisted SpotlightAna rated Chernobyl
All the President’s Men

All the President’s Men1976

All three of you rate dark, deliberate drama highly, and this is the one none of you has started. Two reporters, a phone book and a lot of doors. It builds dread out of legwork rather than twists, and it trusts you to keep up. Ana rates things faster-paced than the other two; this is the slowest thing on the list. But it is deliberately unglamorous, and nobody explains the plot to you.

What stays free, permanently

Tracking, rating, watchlists, friends, Watch Buddies and every recommendation on the site. A ratings site that put your ratings behind a paywall would not be a ratings site.

The family plan

You and 4 others, each on their own account with their own ratings. They do not have to live with you. It costs a little more than Individual; the prices are above.

Think this is priced wrong, or missing the thing you would actually pay for? admin@sarita.ai.

Before you decide

What do I actually get?

No advertising anywhere on Sarita, and something written for you: ask what you and a group should watch together and you get a recommendation composed for that group, with the reason it picked it, from everything you have each rated.

The free site recommends from your shared watchlists: what you have all said you want to see. This reads what you have all actually liked, and writes you an answer.

Is any of this written by a machine?

Yes. The recommendations and the reasons behind them are generated, then checked against real catalogue data so that a title we point you at is a title that exists.

If a reason reads as nonsense, vote it down. That is what the arrows are for, and a downvoted page gets rewritten.

Will the free site have adverts?

Yes. That is what this removes.

What happens to my ratings if I stop paying?

Nothing. Your ratings, your watchlist and your friends stay exactly where they are. The core of the site stays free, and cancelling puts you back on it rather than locking you out of your own history.

Can I cancel whenever I like?

Yes, and cancelling never cuts you off mid-month. You keep everything until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it simply does not renew. Cancel on day two of a month and you still have day thirty.

Who counts as family?

Whoever you like. A family plan is your account plus 4 more people you invite by handle. They do not have to live with you, and they keep their own ratings and their own recommendations.

Who is behind this?

Built by Jimmy Wales, who founded Wikipedia and Fandom. It is a small project, not a large company.
