But Talkier and more contained — no colour, no jungle, none of Annihilation's visual overload.

Another team confronting something incomprehensible, told with the same hushed, awestruck patience and a scientist trying to translate the untranslatable.

But No horror here — it's elegiac rather than dreadful, and lacks Annihilation's creeping menace.

Sunshine2007

Garland wrote this one too — a crew of specialists on a mission that starts as hard science and slowly curdles into something closer to myth.

But The third-act swerve into full horror is abrupt; some viewers find the tonal whiplash a dealbreaker.
