Watch it if you love films where obsession, control and quiet power struggles play out through exquisitely crafted surfaces, the way Paul Thomas Anderson lets a sleek period set hide a restless, prickly intimacy.

Strip away the arthouse polish and Phantom Thread's power dynamic — a controlling, ritual-obsessed man and the younger woman who learns to push back — is basically here too, just louder and pulpier.

But Genuinely trashy filmmaking with none of the restraint or wit that makes Phantom Thread work.
