Screwball comedy
Screwball is the comedy of two people who should never have met, forced together by a runaway heiress, a mistaken identity or a stubborn wager, and talking faster than they can think. The dialogue crackles, the plots tumble over themselves, and the grown-up sparring usually hides a real affection. You finish feeling lighter, as if someone had opened a window in a stuffy room.
