This is the tidy, propulsive Netflix cut of the Fyre Festival collapse — talking heads, leaked texts, and a parade of very confident men explaining exactly how they didn't lie. It's brisk, gossipy, occasionally horrifying in its treatment of Bahamian workers who never got paid, and built for one sitting. Great for anyone who enjoys watching hubris meet Wi-Fi in real time.

Should you watch it?

Watch it if you enjoy watching a con unravel in real time, with the hustlers' own footage doing the damage, and find a fast, sharp documentary about hype and vanity more fun than angry.

Skip it if you want a film that digs into the wider world of influencer money or offers a considered verdict on it; this one stays tightly focused on the festival and its fallout.

F for Fake1973

Fyre's promotional video was itself a con — beautiful footage selling a lie. Welles got there first, decades earlier, turning the con into the entire form of the film.

Orson Welles' essay-film about art forgers, hoaxers, and his own reputation as a fabulist — a dazzling, playful interrogation of how documentary itself can lie while claiming to tell the truth.

But Freewheeling and non-linear; it has no plot to follow and demands patience with its own trickery.

Wild Wild Country2018

A guru, a compound, an army of followers and a genuinely deranged plot twist — six hours that prove charisma-driven disaster works just as well without a beach.
