Romantic comedy

Two people who are wrong for each other on paper keep bumping into one another until the bumping starts to mean something. The engine is misunderstanding: a misread text, a rival who turns out to matter, or a small lie that snowballs until somebody has to own up. You leave it feeling lighter and quietly hopeful, which is the whole point. The Shop Around the Corner still does this better than almost anything.
