A Very Haunted Renovation
HGTV bolts a horror movie onto a renovation show: six designers and contractors move into one of America's most notoriously haunted houses and have 31 days to fix it up while allegedly being haunted the whole time. Anna Camp hosts, Michel Smith Boyd judges the design, and the pitch is equal parts cosy home-improvement and campfire dare. It's silly, it's cozy, and it knows exactly what it is.
Forever Home
A Channel 5 thriller about the woman who comes after: Carol moves into a house that already had a wife in it, and then finds a body in the basement to prove it. It's brisk, nasty-minded domestic suspense with a decent cast and a plot that keeps handing you a new worst-case scenario. Watch it if you like your marriages haunted by furniture as well as ghosts.
Geordie Coppers
A fly-on-the-wall Channel 4 doc trailing Newcastle's neighbourhood police through everyday disorder, domestic call-outs and the odd properly bizarre incident. It's got that C4 factual house style — dry captions, warm officers, banter doing a lot of the emotional lifting — and it's exactly as good-natured as its title promises. For fans of coppers-with-cameras telly and Geordie charm specifically.
High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam
A high-stakes chamber drama disguised as a manhunt thriller: the true story of the CIA analyst who found and interrogated Saddam Hussein, and what talking to him cost him afterward. Told through claustrophobic interrogation-room tension and the slow dawning horror of consequence, it's less about the capture than about what comes after — for one man's conscience, and a region's future. For viewers who want their war stories left morally unresolved.
