Spy action
Spy action is the genre of the borrowed identity and the ticking clock: a agent who lies for a living, a mission that goes wrong in the third act, and a loyalty nobody can quite verify. Watch one and you get the pleasure of a plan being built and then torn up at speed, with gadgets, safehouses and double-crosses doing the heavy lifting. It leaves you feeling clever by association.
