Satire
Satire is comedy that picks up a pompous institution, a smug official or a shared delusion and turns it over until the seams show. The best of it feels like being let in on a joke the powerful are too busy to notice they are the punchline of. You laugh, then realise you have been agreeing with the sharpest critic in the room.
