Paranormal romance
Love that refuses to stay in its lane: a ghost, a vampire, a time traveller or a heavenly visitor falls for someone who can't quite keep up. The best of these ache over the cost of being mortal, and they leave you wanting to hold someone a little tighter. Wings of Desire is a good one to begin with.
