Paul Greengrass reconstructs the last flight of United 93 almost minute by minute, using unknown actors and, in places, the actual air-traffic controllers and military personnel who lived that morning. There's no score-driven heroism, no clean narrative shape — just mounting confusion, then terror, then extraordinary ordinary courage. It's unbearably tense and deliberately unglamorous. Watch it once; you won't need to again.

But Black and white, subtitled, and structurally about a colonial war most viewers know little about going in.

United 93 dramatises what this documentary shows unfiltered — the same morning, the same disbelief curdling into horror, one told through reconstruction, the other through the actual camera that was rolling.

Two French brothers filming a documentary about a rookie firefighter happened to capture the first plane hitting the North Tower — this is that raw footage, from inside the ground-zero firehouse itself.

But It's real footage of real death and panic, unscripted and unmediated; there's no fictional distance to soften it at all.

Same bare bones — trapped passengers, a threat in the cabin, ordinary people forced to act — but stripped of consequence and turned into escapist spectacle, a useful, slightly uncomfortable reminder of how differently the same shape can be told.

Liam Neeson as an air marshal racing to stop a bomb threat mid-flight — a slick, ridiculous, genuinely entertaining thriller that takes the hijacked-plane premise and turns it into pure popcorn.

But It treats a plane full of passengers under threat as an action playground, which is exactly the tonal opposite of what you just watched.
