Timecrimes is a lean, ingeniously plotted Spanish thriller about one disastrous hour that loops back on itself. Karra Elejalde plays a bewildered everyman who becomes both cause and victim of his own accident, and the film tightens its logic screw by screw until dread outpaces confusion. Cheap, clever, and unnervingly claustrophobic — for anyone who wants time travel with genuine stakes and zero fat.

Watch it if you enjoy time-loop puzzles where every small detail earns its place and you like working out the mechanics as the knots tighten, the way Primer rewards patient attention.

Skip it if you want sprawling spectacle or a lot of action; it stays close, cramped and quiet, and its cleverness comes at the cost of emotional warmth.

What it asks of you: It runs about ninety-three minutes and asks you to keep track of who is where and when, with few breaks, so give it your full attention rather than half of it.
