Film
Housefull 3
- Comedy
- Light-hearted
A brash Bollywood farce about three men chasing three sisters while dodging an overprotective father. Housefull 3 is pure slapstick mayhem: pratfalls, mistaken identities, absurd situations piled on absurd situations. It exists to be loud, fast, and ridiculous. If you want your comedy served at maximum volume with zero pretense, this is it.

Golmaal Again2017
From the same franchise's DNA: Rohit Shetty's anarchic ensemble comedy where chaos and heart live together. Ridiculous stunts, clever timing, and a cast that commits to the madness without apology.
But The plot is tissue-thin and the humour leans heavily on slapstick and mugging. If you need wit or restraint, this will exhaust you.

Dil Dhadakne Do2015
Another Akshay-adjacent Bollywood ensemble that balances comedy with genuine warmth. Cruise setting, family dysfunction, and characters you actually care about beneath the chaos.
But It's longer and tries harder to be meaningful, which sometimes undercuts the fun. The tonal shifts between comedy and sentiment can feel uneven.

Welcome2007
Borivali crime-comedy absurdism: three bumbling criminals, mistaken identities, physical comedy cranked to eleven. Fast, clever in its own trashy way, and unapologetically silly.
But The humour is crude and the plot is paper-thin. If slapstick from the 2000s feels dated to you, this will feel ancient.

The wildcard
Something you would not have found on your own.
Rang De Basanti2006
Both are ensemble comedies built on youthful energy and multiple love stories, but Rang De Basanti shows what happens when that energy meets consequences.
A ensemble of young idealists making a documentary film within the film, shifting between comedy and rage at injustice. Same Bollywood energy as Housefull 3, but weaponized—the chaos serves something real.
But It's activist filmmaking that gets dark and serious. The shift from comedy to political thriller is sudden and unforgiving. It demands emotional investment.

Pagglait2021
A widow navigates grief, family expectations, and finding herself. It's warm, funny, and human in ways Housefull 3 isn't, but shares that Indian ensemble energy.
But The tone is gentler and more introspective. If you came for maximum chaos, you'll find something more thoughtful here.

Bobby Jasoos2014
Quirky romantic comedy with genuine charm, a female-led mystery, and enough oddball energy to remind you why Vidya Balan is a treasure.
But It's smaller and more intimate. The humour is smarter but lower-key, which might feel slow if you want relentless noise.

Bunty Aur Babli2005
Con-artist romance with Abhishek Bachchan (who's in Housefull 3): clever, fun, and actually has a plot that makes you care. The chemistry between leads is real.
But It takes itself more seriously as a heist film. If you want pure slapstick without narrative stakes, the story complications will slow you down.

Hera Pheri2000
The original blueprint for this kind of Bollywood chaos: three men, impossible situations, slapstick done with impeccable timing. A classic for good reason.
But It's from 2000 and shows it. The filmmaking, music, and sensibility feel very much of their moment, which can feel distant now.

Jabariya Jodi2019
Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in a funny, energetic rom-com about forced marriages in Bihar. Heart, chemistry, and genuine laughs beneath the high-concept premise.
But The film is trying to have it both ways—satire and sincerity—and doesn't always land both. Tonal whiplash happens.

3 Idiots2009
An ensemble that actually works: funny, touching, quotable, and cares about its characters. Aamir Khan, Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi have genuine chemistry that makes you believe in their friendship.
But It's 171 minutes and the emotional beats will require patience. If you want comedy without the sentiment, this will feel bloated.

The Phantom of the Opera2004
Both are films that run 140+ minutes and live in ensemble romantic chaos, but one celebrates noise and the other worships silence. A palette cleanser.
A three-hour musical melodrama about obsession and beauty. If you're exhausted by Housefull 3's volume but still want spectacle and romance, this is the inverse: gorgeous, serious, and deeply felt.
But It's operatic in every sense—slow, arch, and emotionally intense. The pacing and earnestness will feel alien if you just finished a Rohit Shetty film.

Andhadhun2018
Both feature male leads trying to navigate impossible situations through charm and deception, but Andhadhun asks: what if charm isn't enough? What if there are real consequences?
A blind pianist becomes entangled in murder, deception, and moral ambiguity. Twisty, darkly funny, and genuinely intelligent. Proves Bollywood can do suspense with style.
But It's cynical and morally murky. If you want clear heroes and happy chaos, the film's nasty streak and narrative reversals will feel bleak.
