Best enjoyed as a Boy's Own tale with genuine heart underneath the spectacle.

Frank Capra's real wartime propaganda documentary, made by the US government for the exact purpose Captain America's comic was invented for — rallying a nation against fascism.

But It's blunt, dated agitprop with none of the craft or nuance of a modern film — informative rather than entertaining.

X-Men: First Class2011
