Dirty Sanchez is a Welsh stunt-comedy series where four mates compete to humiliate themselves in increasingly absurd and painful ways. It's visceral, anarchic, and deeply silly—a show that treats the human body as both punchline and canvas. For people who laugh at chaos and have a very high tolerance for bodily harm played for laughs.
Should you watch it?
Watch it if you love the giggling, cringing thrill of watching people do something stupid on camera with total commitment, and you find a crew of reckless mates funnier than any scripted sitcom.
Skip it if you want a story that builds or a host who explains the joke; the gags are the whole point, and the stunts can feel repetitive, grubby and loud across long stretches.
What it asks of you: Each episode runs about twenty minutes and moves in quick, chaotic bursts, so it asks for a willingness to laugh-wince at mess rather than sustained attention.

Jackass2000
The closest spiritual cousin: American stunt comedy with the same gleeful disregard for safety, featuring a crew of friends constantly one-upping each other's stupidity. Iconic and endlessly inventive.
But If you find watching people get hurt unfunny, this won't convert you. It's also dated in ways that feel uncomfortable now.

Wildboyz2003
Jackass alumni Steve-O and Chris Pontius travel the world seeking animal encounters and local stunts. More focused travel narrative than Jackass, but same anarchic energy and willingness to suffer on camera.
But Involves actual animals in sometimes questionable situations. Slower pacing than you might expect from stunt comedy.

Viva La Bam2003
Bam Margera's crew wreaks havoc on their hometown and each other with skate culture at the core. Character-driven and funnier than pure stunt shows because you care about who's getting destroyed.
But Relies heavily on pranking family members, which lands differently depending on your mood. Some skate-culture in-jokes won't land if that's not your world.

The wildcard
Something you would not have found on your own.
Superbad2007
Both center on the bonds between male friends and treat physical/social vulnerability as the engine of humor, but one adds narrative and character growth.
Comedy about male friendship where the humor comes from characters being completely themselves—unglamorous, horny, neurotic, loyal. Same chemistry between four mates as Dirty Sanchez but filtered through a coming-of-age narrative with genuine heart.
But It's warm and emotionally intelligent. If you want cringe without consequence or meaning, the film's sincerity will feel like it's working against the comedy.

The Stupids1996
A feature-length celebration of gleeful idiocy where a family finds chaos in everyday life. Similar energy to stunt comedy but with narrative structure and genuine heart beneath the mess.
But It's deeply silly rather than shocking. If you need physical danger to find humor, this gentler approach might feel slight.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa2013
Johnny Knoxville in old-man makeup pranking real people on camera. Jackass sensibility applied to social awkwardness rather than stunts, with surprisingly touching father-grandson moments.
But The prank-on-strangers formula wears thin by the end. Relies on people's discomfort rather than pure physical comedy.

EuroTrip2004
Teen comedy with loose, improvisational energy that captures the same anarchic spirit of friends getting into ridiculous situations abroad. Great ensemble chemistry and genuine laughs.
But It's a conventional coming-of-age film underneath the chaos. You need to care about the emotional beats, not just the stupid moments.

Trainspotting1996
Scottish dark comedy-drama following a crew of mates in self-destruction mode. Same regional British working-class energy and willingness to show bodies in states of degradation, but with real consequences.
But It's a harrowing film about addiction where the humor darkens as it goes. Completely different register from stunt comedy—far bleaker and more serious.

Nitro Circus2009
Action sports-focused stunt crew with more resources and bigger setpieces than Dirty Sanchez. Travis Pastrana and crew push into genuinely impressive territory rather than just absurd pain.
But It tips toward action spectacle rather than comedy. If you want humor alongside the stunts, this skews too far toward 'look how insane this is' without the joke.

Norbit2007
Same willingness to be trashy and ugly and make that the entire point—no irony, no winking, just committed to the bit no matter how dumb it looks.
Eddie Murphy in fatsuit playing an exaggerated female character—a film built entirely on physical comedy, cross-dressing, and slapstick designed to be embarrassing. Unapologetic trash in the best way.
But It's widely considered a bad film and has aged poorly culturally. The humor punches down and relies on body-shaming. Watching it feels like admitting something about your sense of humor.
