Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension
- Science fiction
- Spy action
- Light-hearted
A fast-paced animated adventure where two stepbrothers discover their seemingly ordinary pet is a secret agent, then tumble into an alternate dimension ruled by an evil scientist. It's clever, energetic, and genuinely funny for both kids and adults—built on escalating absurdity and real emotional stakes underneath the chaos.

Gravity Falls2012
Mystery, humour, and genuine scares woven into a show about two kids uncovering supernatural secrets in a weird town. The writing rewards close attention and gets better as it builds toward something bigger.
But It's heavily serialized—you can't dip in and out. Some of the early episodes feel scattered before the plot kicks in.

The Owl House2020
A girl gets trapped in a demon realm and has to learn magic while navigating friendships and identity. It's warm, funny, visually gorgeous, and genuinely moving without ever feeling sentimental.
But The first season takes a while to find its footing. Some of the early comedy feels like standard kids' TV.

Amphibia2019
A girl transported to a frog world has to survive, make friends, and slowly uncover what's actually happening. The character work is exceptional, the mystery payoff is satisfying, and it trusts its audience to care about these people.
But It's genuinely serialized—skipping around won't work. The early episodes are deliberately quiet before things escalate.

Over the Garden Wall2014
A miniseries that's atmospheric and unsettling in the way a fairy tale can be. Two brothers navigate a mysterious forest with genuine dread lurking at the edges. It's autumnal and strange and perfectly paced.
But It's quiet and slow-burn. There's less action and more mood than you might expect from an animated adventure.

Big City Greens2018
Chaotic found-family energy, rapid-fire jokes, and genuine heart. A messy family moving to the city should be generic, but the writing and voice work make them feel real and worth rooting for.
But The humour is intentionally silly and sometimes absurdist. If you prefer grounded comedy, this won't click.

Craig of the Creek2018
A show about kids just being kids in a creek—adventuring, problem-solving, navigating friendships and small dramas. It's wholesome without being saccharine, and the world-building is genuinely thoughtful.
But Very little plot momentum across episodes. It's episodic and gentle, which some viewers find boring.

Infinity Train2019
A visually inventive anthology series about kids trapped on a mysterious train with new worlds in every car. Each season has a different protagonist and a genuine mystery underneath the weirdness.
But The story logic doesn't always hold up under scrutiny. Some episodes prioritize atmosphere over coherent plotting.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power2018
A girls-focused action show with bright colour, serialized storytelling, and characters who grow and change. It's earnest about friendship and redemption without feeling preachy.
But The first season is visually muddled and the pacing is slow. You have to commit to get to where it becomes genuinely excellent.
