Space Ghost Coast to Coast
A superhero cartoon repurposed into the least functional talk show ever aired: Space Ghost, recycled from 1960s animation cels, interviews real celebrities via monitor while his old arch-villains run the control room. It's deadpan, disjointed, gloriously cheap, and often nonsensical — less a parody of late-night TV than a fever dream of one. For fans of absurdist, low-fi comedy that trusts silence and confusion as punchlines.

Same target — the ego and mechanics of the late-night talk show — but dissected through cringing, live-action realism instead of alien deadpan, proving the format is funny either way.
A live-action, fully human dissection of talk-show vanity and backstage dysfunction, decades ahead of its time and quietly one of the funniest shows ever made about performing normalcy for cameras.
But No absurdism or surrealism at all — this is character-driven, dialogue-heavy comedy, closer to drama than to Space Ghost's chaos.

Takes the same anti-format anarchy and children's-show wreckage and pushes it somewhere far darker and more transgressive — proof the recycled-nostalgia joke can curdle into something genuinely upsetting.
Puppets and kids'-show trappings hijacked for savage, disturbing satire — if Space Ghost's cheerful confusion appealed to you, this is what happens when that same impulse turns genuinely feral.
But Deliberately upsetting and mean-spirited in ways that go well past absurd into actually disturbing territory.
