In Time with You

A Taiwanese romantic comedy about two best friends who make a bet to marry before 35, only to discover the person they're looking for might be standing right beside them. Warm, funny, and genuinely romantic without ever feeling saccharine. Perfect if you love watching two people slowly realize what was always obvious to everyone else.

Should you watch it?

Watch it if you enjoy slow-building friends-to-lovers stories where the romance is driven by bickering, banter and the comedy of two people who refuse to see what is in front of them.

Skip it if you want a fast, tightly plotted rom-com; this one spends a lot of its thirteen episodes circling the same obstacles and the pacing can feel leisurely.

What it asks of you: Settle in for a long, gentle run of episodes with light, playful tone, and be patient with a central pair who take their time catching up to themselves.

Boys over Flowers2009

A Taiwanese romance with similar energy—sharp banter, genuine chemistry between leads, and the pleasure of watching surface tension build over time. The tonal balance between comedy and heart is nearly identical.

But The plot beats are familiar (rich guy, poor girl, obstacles), and if you're tired of that template, this won't reinvent it for you.

1% of Anything2003

Korean romance that nails the best-friends-to-lovers arc with humor and authenticity. It has the same quiet warmth and the same willingness to let tender moments breathe without overselling them.

But Pacing can feel slow if you prefer plot-driven narratives. Some episodes drift toward melodrama that undercuts the comedy.

My Love from the Star2013

Korean fantasy-romance with a similar sweetness and the same gift for character humor. The leads have that effortless chemistry where you believe their friendship is the real foundation.

But The fantasy elements add complexity that In Time with You doesn't have. If you want pure, grounded romance, this has more moving parts.

Something you would not have found on your own.

Temptation of Wife2008

Both are Taiwanese TV from the same era and share characters' conversations about marriage and adult responsibility, but Temptation of Wife shows what happens when those conversations become obligations rather than jokes.

A Taiwanese drama that uses the same setting and cultural context as In Time with You but pivots entirely into something darker—a story about marriage, infidelity, and the gap between who we present ourselves as and who we really are. Same country, completely different register.

But This is serious drama with real pain in it. If you came from In Time with You expecting lightness, the tonal whiplash might feel jarring. It's genuinely bleak in places.

Crash Landing on You2019

South Korean series with identical tonal DNA—witty, tender, grounded in real emotion. Both shows understand that the best romances are built on how two people make each other laugh.

But Much longer (16 episodes) and glossier in production. The stakes feel bigger and messier; it's less intimate than In Time with You.

Another Miss Oh2016

Korean romance that trusts its leads completely and lets their banter carry entire episodes. Like In Time with You, it's more interested in how two people fit together than in manufactured obstacles.

But The supporting plot about the other Oh Hae Young can feel overstuffed. Some viewers find the middle stretch drags.

Just You2011

Taiwanese romance from the same year, same sensibility. If you loved In Time with You's humor and pace, this delivers similar warmth with excellent chemistry between leads.

But Less distinctive than its peers. It hits all the expected beats without surprising you much.

Go Ahead2020

A Chinese series about lifelong friendship that grows into love. Spans years and captures how people change while staying fundamentally themselves to each other.

But Much longer and more dramatically ambitious. Includes heavier themes about loss and family that shift the tone from romantic comedy.

Put Your Head on My Shoulder2019

A Chinese campus romance with the same gentle humor and the same ease between leads. Shorter and lighter, it nails that feeling of slow-burn attraction masquerading as friendship.

But The college setting might feel thin if you're past that phase of life. The plot relies on some pretty standard misunderstandings.
