A young officer has to prove himself to a wary crew under a demanding captain — the same emotional shape as Teagan's story, just relocated to a Napoleonic warship with cannon fire instead of a coxswain's seat.
But It's a two-hour naval war epic with no romance and long stretches of period nautical detail — a very different register from teen drama.
