All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur
Tom Hardy narrates an intimate nine-part look inside Tottenham's 2019-20 season, capturing dressing-room dynamics, managerial pressure, and the machinery behind a Premier League club. It's not hagiography—the frustrations and failures hurt as much as the victories lift. For football fans and anyone curious about how elite institutions manage chaos.
Should you watch it?
Watch it if you like behind-the-scenes sports documentaries that linger in dressing rooms and boardrooms, caring about the people running a club as much as the football itself.
Skip it if you want tactical analysis or constant match action, since this is a club's access diary rather than a game breakdown, and its loose rhythm can drift.
What it asks of you: Nine episodes of roughly fifty minutes each, unhurried and observational, so it rewards settling in over several evenings rather than a single binge.

Sunderland 'Til I Die2018
Netflix's original docuseries about a fallen English giant chasing promotion. Rawer and more melancholic than Tottenham's version—you see how catastrophe looks from inside, not just disappointment.
But If you don't care about football, the despair can feel repetitive. Even fans might find the hopelessness exhausting.

The Last Dance2020
Michael Jordan's final season, Netflix's most cinematic sports doc. Focuses on the relationship between genius and the people around it. Same era, same psychological depth as Tottenham, different sport.
But Jordan comes across as almost unreasonably cruel. If you want to like your subjects, this makes it difficult.

The Toys That Made Us2017
Behind-the-scenes on how beloved things get built: failures, corporate politics, genius in committees. Same access-and-ambition formula, completely different stakes.
But Nostalgia-focused and lighter in tone. If you want stakes and suffering, this won't deliver it.

The wildcard
Something you would not have found on your own.
Senna2010
Both are about the loneliness of excellence: what it costs a champion to stay on top, and what happens when they can't.
A 106-minute documentary that plays like a tragedy, cutting between Senna's final season and his rise. The editing is so precise it becomes cinema. You feel what it's like to be brilliant and mortal at the same time.
But Formula 1 is alienating if you don't know it, and the film assumes you do. The sound design is uncomfortably intense.

Quarterback2023
Follows three NFL quarterbacks through a season. More intimate than Drive to Survive, less institutional than Tottenham. Brilliant on pressure and isolation at the top.
But American football language and culture might alienate non-fans. The season-arc structure repeats somewhat.

Full Circle2023
Behind the scenes of a West End theatre production. Same pressures, same human friction, same weeks where everything nearly falls apart. Elegantly shot.
But Theatre world feels hermetic and less recognizable than football. The pace is gentler than you might want.
