Weird western
Weird westerns take the dusty frontier and tip it slightly off its axis, so a gunslinger might wander into a town where the rules of God and gravity have quietly changed. The sagebrush stays, but the sense that something unnatural is waiting just past the next ridge gives these films a dreamlike, uneasy pull. They are for nights when you want the familiar saddle creak and then a jolt of strangeness.
