Scream

Other titles called Scream: the 1996 film.

The fifth Scream film does the hard thing: it remakes the original's blueprint while actually earning the nostalgia. A new Ghostface terrorizes Woodsboro's next generation, but the film knows how to hurt old fans and delight new ones. It's a love letter that isn't afraid to betray you.

Lamb2021

Both are modern horror films about loss and family legacy. Scream resurrects Woodsboro's past; Lamb is about what we do with absence. Different speeds, same emotional core.

Valdimar Jóhannsson's Icelandic folk-horror debut is eerie and intimate, about grief and replacement. Barely 106 minutes, mostly quiet, utterly transfixing. A horror film that works on you slowly.

But Completely unhurried. No jump-scares, minimal plot, atmospheric to the point of abstraction. Some find it pretentious; most find it slow.

Climax2018

Both trap groups inside spaces where trust corrodes. Scream uses jump-scares and mystery; Climax uses repetition and abstraction. One is a machine, the other is an experience.

Gaspar Noé's descent into chaos. Dancers on LSD, a locked building, mounting dread. It's experimental horror—music, color, repetition become weapons. Genuinely terrifying in ways narrative can't explain.

But Formally challenging, almost hostile to conventional viewing. Long static takes, no plot to hold onto. The horror is abstract and drug-induced. Most people hate it; few people forget it.
