Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.
- Romance
- Light-hearted
A ensemble comedy-drama following six honeymoon couples on a packaged tour through India. Warm, digressive, and genuinely interested in how different people love differently—the film juggles romance, resentment, joy and awkwardness with a loose, generous hand. It's for anyone who finds other people's marriages endlessly fascinating.

Dil Chahta Hai2001
Three friends navigate love, friendship, and growing up across Mumbai and Goa. Utterly charming, funny without trying, and utterly convinced that how people feel matters. You'll recognize its DNA immediately.
But It's romantic in the old-fashioned sense, which means if cynicism is your default you may find it a touch earnest.

Wake Up Sid2009
A young man drifts through life until he meets someone who actually sees him. Rishi Kapoor's performance alone is worth the evening—he captures a whole era of fatherhood. Tender without being saccharine.
But The second half softens into something more conventional. Some viewers find that a letdown after the wilder first half.

Khosla Ka Ghosla!2006
A Delhi family battles corrupt land developers. It's funny, it's angry, it's absolutely lived-in. The ensemble cast feels like your actual relatives—bickering, loving, brilliant in small ways.
But The humour is very specifically Delhi-middle-class. If that world doesn't sing to you, the rhythm might feel repetitive.

The wildcard
Something you would not have found on your own.
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie1972
Both films are fascinated by what happens when you put couples in rooms together and watch. The engine is observation—how different people tick, how they love badly and well. Honeymoon Travels is warm where Buñuel is cold, but the inquiry is the same.
Six bourgeois friends attempt a dinner party that keeps failing to happen. It's funny, surreal, and devastatingly observant about how people perform for each other. Buñuel understood marriage comedy better than almost anyone.
But It's a Buñuel film from 1972. If you want plot to move forward in a straight line, this will exhaust you.

English Vinglish2012
Sridevi plays a woman rediscovering herself through an English course in New York. Funny and unexpectedly moving, and genuinely interested in the gap between how people see you and who you are.
But It leans toward the sentimental in the final act. Some find that earned; others find it manipulative.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu2012
Two strangers honeymoon separately, get their hotel rooms mixed up, and have to sort it out. A high-concept romantic comedy that actually trusts the audience and doesn't overstay its welcome.
But It's slight. Ninety-two minutes that feel like ninety-two minutes. If you want substantial, look elsewhere.

Jab We Met2007
A chance train meeting becomes a road trip becomes a love story. Kareena Kapoor is electric—funny, sharp, real. It captures the specific joy of knowing someone you shouldn't.
But The ending pivots in a way that divides viewers sharply. Some find it inevitable; others find it a betrayal of what came before.

Rang De Basanti2006
Five friends grapple with idealism, corruption, and what it means to believe in change. It's genuinely funny in the first half and genuinely devastating in the second. You'll feel something.
But It swings for very big themes and not everyone thinks it lands. Also runs two forty; that's a commitment.

Kahaani2012
A pregnant woman searching for her missing husband through Kolkata becomes something far richer—a story about a woman's ingenuity, anger, and refusal to be invisible. Brilliant thriller, better character study.
But The twist, when it comes, is not subtle. If you prize understatement, you may feel it's overdone.

Shuddh Desi Romance2013
A couple defies parental pressure by living together. It's a rom-com but it's also interested in real resistance—what it costs to choose differently. Lightweight on the surface, sharper underneath.
But Tries to have its cake and eat it too—wants to be radical and crowd-pleasing simultaneously. Some feel it settles too easily.

Scenes from a Marriage2021
Where Honeymoon Travels is lightness, Scenes is gravity. But both refuse to let marriage be simple. Both know that couples are fascinating because they're complicated, because love and irritation live in the same house. One makes you laugh; one makes you think. Both are true.
Bergman's six episodes follow a marriage across decades—lust, resentment, compromise, love, emptiness, everything. Every scene is a masterclass in how people actually talk to each other. Devastating and weirdly hopeful.
But It is profoundly unhappy for most of its runtime. If you cannot sit with Swedish marital discord for nine hours, do not start.
