Film
Big Money Hustlas
A Insane Clown Posse comedy-crime film where two detectives travel to New York to bust a crime ring run by absurdist villains. It's deliberately silly, aggressively lowbrow, and committed to its own stupidity in a way that either delights you or repels you within minutes. For people who think mainstream comedy has become too safe and polite.
Should you watch it?
Watch it if you enjoy scrappy, deliberately ridiculous spoofs of buddy-cop pictures, where the gags come fast and the earnestness is pure cardboard, and you don't mind a movie that wears its amateur edges proudly.
Skip it if you need polished production and sharp writing, because the jokes here hit and miss and the low budget shows in many scenes.
What it asks of you: Ninety-seven minutes of loose, broad, cheerfully crude material with little slow build; it wants you to laugh along at its rough edges rather than settle in for atmosphere.

Super Troopers2001
A comedy ensemble that understands absurdist humor and character-driven ridiculousness. The jokes land because the cast believes in the bit entirely, same energy as Big Money Hustlas.
But It's built on repeated gags that can feel thin on a rewatch. The humor doesn't have much underneath it.

Pootie Tang2001
Absurdist comedy from the same era that commits fully to its own logic. Louis C.K. directed something genuinely weird and funny that doesn't apologize for itself.
But Some sketches overstay their welcome. The inconsistent tone can feel jarring.

Kung Fu Hustle2004
Crime comedy that mixes action and ridiculous humor without winking. It respects both genres and lets them collide headfirst, committed to the bit.
But The humor gets broader as it goes. Some comedy bits feel disconnected from the action sequences.

Something you would not have found on your own.
The Gong Show Movie1980
Both reject the idea that comedy needs to be polished or make traditional sense. They're comedy as pure commitment to the bit over all else.
Chuck Barris directed a film-length sketch show about terrible talent and deranged comedy. It's anarchic, shapeless, and committed to making people uncomfortable—exactly the spirit Big Money Hustlas shares with punk comedy.
But There is no plot, no conventional structure. It's just people doing absurd things for 90 minutes. Many will find it tedious.

Miami Connection1987
B-movie crime action with genuine passion from people who didn't care what critics thought. That same fearless energy of making exactly what you want.
But It's genuinely terrible in fascinating ways. Not all the badness is intentional.

Attack the Block2011
Crime-comedy mixing genres with real wit underneath the nonsense. Treats characters as real even when the premise is ridiculous.
But Gets more earnest in the third act. Some viewers want comedy all the way through.

Chopping Mall1986
Absurd horror-comedy from the VHS era that knows exactly what it is. Commits to the premise (mall robots kill people) with zero irony or shame.
But Low production values can feel like a genuine chore. Pacing drags in stretches.

Cherry 20001987
Ridiculous action-comedy from a completely different tone register. It's silly and earnest at once in ways that feel genuinely creative.
But The film doesn't know what it wants to be. The tonal shifts can feel accidental.

Braindead1992
Splatter-comedy that swings for the fences with its own absurdity. The filmmakers wanted to make something disgusting and funny, and they succeeded.
But The gore is genuinely graphic. It's gross in a way some people find unwatchable rather than funny.

ThanksKilling2008
No-budget horror-comedy about a murderous turkey. It's committed to the bit with genuine creativity despite having almost no resources.
But The technical quality is rough. Some jokes don't work and the pacing is uneven.

Possession1981
Both films operate in their own logic systems where normal rules don't apply. They don't explain themselves or apologize. Pure artistic commitment to the weird.
An utterly deranged French-German horror film about a crumbling marriage told through surrealism and body horror. It's visually stunning, deeply weird, and completely serious about its own insanity.
But It's bleak, slow, and genuinely disturbing. There's no humor or irony; it commits to nightmare logic. Very different tone from the film you're considering.

Reno 911!: Miami2007
Both are cop-comedies from a similar era using ensemble casts of comedy-first performers. Both trust their characters to carry the humor rather than relying on plot.
A sketch-comedy ensemble film where the cast plays incompetent cops in absurd situations. It's dumb in a way that requires real comedic timing and character work to pull off.
But It's basically an extended TV sketch. If you're not already familiar with the show, it feels shapeless and slow. Humor is very inside-baseball.
