Young Peter Doppler

In the 1986 strand of Winden's tangled timeline, Peter Doppler is a soft-spoken young man just starting out as the town's veterinarian, the son of the clinic's unsettling director Helge Doppler. He keeps to himself, gentle with animals and quiet around people, a calm presence in a family carrying more history than it shows.

Dark uses him as a study in inherited unease — a decent, unremarkable young man planted in a family whose past keeps surfacing sideways. Striebeck plays him with an underplayed steadiness that reads as ordinary kindness, which is exactly what makes the show's slow accumulation of dread around the Dopplers land so effectively later.
