Torben Wöller

Torben Wöller is a young police officer in the small town of Winden, working the disappearance case that has thrown the community into panic. Earnest and a little awkward, he moves on crutches, works hard to be taken seriously by his colleagues, and pursues both the investigation and a relationship with quiet, dogged persistence.

Dark surrounds its characters with cosmic dread, and Torben Wöller supplies something rarer in the show: ordinary decency. Leopold Hornung plays him without cynicism, a cop who genuinely wants to help and is visibly proud of being useful, which makes him an anchor of plain human warmth inside a story built on secrets and dread.
