Ted Jr. runs the family tire store in a small Georgia town, married to the devout, hopeful Tawney. When his stepbrother Daniel returns home after nearly two decades on death row, Ted reacts with open suspicion and simmering resentment, guarding his business, his marriage, and his sense of a settled life against the disruption Daniel represents.

Clayne Crawford plays a man whose anger could easily read as villainy but never does; you feel the years of grief and fear underneath every outburst. Rectify lets Ted be petty, jealous, and afraid in the same breath as decent, and the show's patience with his contradictions makes him one of its most quietly moving characters.
