Tanjirō Kamado

Tanjirō is a kind-hearted charcoal seller in rural Japan whose family is slaughtered by a demon, leaving his younger sister Nezuko transformed into one herself. Rather than despair, he sets out to become a demon slayer, hoping to find a cure and avenge his family, all while refusing to abandon his compassion even toward the monsters he must fight.

The show could easily have made him a blank vengeance machine, but the writing insists on his gentleness as a virtue, not a weakness, and Natsuki Hanae plays that tenderness with real conviction rather than saccharine sweetness. Watching him extend sympathy to demons who've caused him unimaginable pain gives the whole series its moral spine.
