Susan Ivanova

Susan Ivanova is second-in-command of Babylon 5, the officer who actually keeps the station running while others posture. She is brisk, sleep-deprived, and allergic to nonsense, delivering bad news and worse jokes with the same flat efficiency. Command respects her; visiting dignitaries learn to fear her patience running out.

Christian plays her with a dry, exhausted wit that never curdles into cynicism — she clearly cares, she just refuses to perform caring for anyone's benefit. The scripts trust her to be competent without softening her into someone's love interest or comic relief, and that restraint is what makes her sharp lines land so well.
