Sister Cathy Cesnik

In late-1960s Baltimore, Sister Cathy Cesnik teaches English and drama at Archbishop Keough High School, young, warm, and unusually close to her students—the kind of nun girls trusted with secrets. In November 1969 she leaves her apartment one evening and never returns; her disappearance, and the case that follows, becomes the spine of the documentary.

The series builds her almost entirely from other people's memories—former students, decades older, still visibly moved describing her kindness. That accumulation of testimony does something rare: it keeps a woman gone fifty years from becoming just a name on a cold case, insisting instead that she was specific, beloved, and irreplaceable to the people telling her story.
