Samuel "Sam" Anders

Sam Anders is a former professional pyramid player turned resistance fighter, leading a scrappy band of survivors through the ruins of occupied Caprica. Charming and quick with a joke even under fire, he is fiercely protective of his people and determined to keep them alive against overwhelming odds.

Trucco plays him as easy warmth wrapped around real steel, a jock's grin masking someone who has clearly made hard calls to keep his group breathing. The show uses him to test whether decency survives occupation, and his slow-burn chemistry with Starbuck gives the character an emotional throughline beyond the resistance plot.
