Rachel DeGrasso

Rachel DeGrasso is one of the captives held in Hap's underground facility, a fellow subject of his near-death experiments alongside Prairie and the others. Quiet and watchful, she keeps largely to herself, communicating in glances and small gestures more than words, a survivor conserving what strength she has left.

Sharon Van Etten, better known as a musician, brings an unpolished, lived-in stillness to Rachel that no trained performance quite replicates — she doesn't perform suffering so much as simply carry it. In a show built on strangeness and myth, her plainness feels like the truest, saddest thing in the room.
