Preston "Bodie" Broadus

Bodie is a young corner soldier in the Barksdale organization, sharp-tongued and quick to argue with anyone above or below him. He takes the drug trade seriously as a business and a code, chafing at orders he thinks are stupid while still following them. Loyal, combative, and stubbornly principled in his own rough way.

J.D. Williams gives Bodie a restless intelligence that the street was never built to reward — he's always asking why, always pushing back, and the show lets him grow across seasons instead of freezing him as a type. It's one of the clearest character arcs in the whole series, and Williams plays every stage of it like he's earned it.
