Peter Doppler

Peter Doppler is Winden's police chief, married to Charlotte with two daughters, and outwardly the picture of small-town stability. When a local boy vanishes, he leads the investigation with calm authority. But he keeps a life tucked away from his family, and the more he searches for the truth, the more his own carefully maintained order threatens to crack.

Kampwirth plays Peter as a man built on control, which makes the character's fault lines so quietly unsettling. Dark uses him as an entry point into the town's respectable surface, then lets small hesitations and evasions accumulate until you realize the investigator has his own things worth investigating.
