Odo

Odo is the security chief of Deep Space Nine, a shapeshifter of unknown origin found adrift with no memory of his people. He enforces order with rigid, incorruptible fairness, trusts almost no one, and holds himself apart from the humanoids around him, uneasy in a form that isn't quite his own.

René Auberjonois plays him with a stiffness that's both comic and genuinely alien, a man performing solidity because his body won't give it to him for free. The writing lets his loneliness show through procedure and grudging decency rather than speeches, so every flicker of warmth toward Kira or Quark lands like something hard-won.
