Number Five

Aaron Doral is the Colonial press liaison assigned to the decommissioning ceremony for the aging Battlestar Galactica, a brisk, personable functionary armed with a clipboard and talking points. He smooths over every logistical wrinkle with practiced charm, the sort of background official you'd never think twice about — which turns out to be exactly the point.

Matthew Bennett plays Doral with such convincing, unremarkable pleasantness that he becomes a kind of camouflage: nothing about his manner invites suspicion. As one of several identical models sharing this face throughout the series, his performance sets the template others will echo — polite, procedural, and entirely persuasive as human, which is what makes the character so unsettling in hindsight.
