Na'Toth

Na'Toth serves as aide to Ambassador G'Kar on Babylon 5, and she is nobody's assistant in the deferential sense. Sharp-tongued, quick to anger, and openly contemptuous of the Centauri, she carries herself like a soldier assigned to diplomacy rather than a diplomat by nature, watching the station's politics with open suspicion.

The role was recast early on, from Julie Caitlin Brown to Mary Kay Adams, and both actresses found the same coiled intensity in her: a Narn pride that never softens into charm. She works because the show lets her be prickly and unapologetic rather than likable, a woman whose loyalty to G'Kar is fierce precisely because she trusts almost no one else.
