Michael Garibaldi

Garibaldi runs security on Babylon 5, a job he treats as personal rather than procedural — he knows every corridor, every shady trader, and trusts his gut over the manual. Wry, quick with a joke, and openly recovering from old troubles, he's fiercely loyal to the people he's decided to protect, station commander included.

Jerry Doyle plays him with a scrappy, unpolished warmth that cuts through the show's more solemn political maneuvering — Garibaldi is funny and paranoid and human in a way that grounds the space opera. The character's mix of competence and self-doubt gives the actor plenty to work with beyond just badge-and-gun duty.
