Maurice "Maury" Levy

Maury Levy is Baltimore's premier defense attorney for the city's drug hierarchy, a slick, unflappable presence in the courtroom who knows every judge, every angle, every way to make evidence disappear. He works for whoever pays best, and he's very good at it. Polite, precise, and utterly without illusions about the system he games so well.

The show refuses to make him a cartoon villain — Levy is chillingly plausible, a man who's simply optimized himself for a broken machine. Kostroff plays him with dry, lawyerly calm, never raising his voice, which makes his casual cruelty land harder. He's proof that the worst damage often wears a suit.
