Margaret "Maggie" Jordan

Maggie Jordan is a junior producer on Will McAvoy's news show, eager to prove herself in a newsroom that runs on speed and pressure. She's smart but visibly anxious, caught between a steady boyfriend and a colleague she can't quite stop noticing, trying to figure out where she fits.

Alison Pill plays Maggie's nervousness as something specific and funny rather than generic — the rapid blinking, the over-explaining, the way she talks herself into corners under Sorkin's machine-gun dialogue. It's a performance built on small tics that make a promising-but-unsteady young producer feel entirely lived-in.
