Magnus Christensen

Magnus is the teenage son of Birgitte Nyborg, more interested in girls, football and ordinary adolescent life than in the fact that his mother is suddenly running the country. He's easygoing and a little sullen by turns, the kind of kid who wants dinner on the table and his parents actually present, not headlines about them.

Borgen is a show about the cost of power, and Magnus is where that cost lands hardest and most quietly. Emil Poulsen plays him without melodrama — just the flat disappointment of a kid whose family is dissolving around a job nobody voted to sacrifice for, which makes the political drama feel dangerous in a way policy debates never could.
