Luis Salazar

Luis Salazar works long hours and keeps his head down, a father trying to hold together what's left of his family after his teenage son is swept up in a murder investigation. He's proud, methodical, and quietly desperate, convinced the system has already decided his son is guilty and determined to prove otherwise.

Benito Martinez plays him without a trace of self-pity, letting Luis's exhaustion and stubborn dignity do the work instead. The show could easily reduce him to a symbol of immigrant hardship, but Martinez keeps finding the specific man underneath—wary, exact, quietly furious—which makes his fight for his son feel lived-in rather than illustrative.
