Earnest and awkward, she's clearly smart but not yet sure how to trust herself.

Kerry Bishé plays Lucy's neuroses with such specificity that her spiraling inner monologue feels endearing rather than grating. The show hands her JD's old role as the anxious rookie learning to be a doctor, and Bishé makes that familiar arc feel fresh by grounding it in genuine, fumbling sincerity rather than easy imitation.
