Lincoln Lee

Lincoln Lee is an FBI agent who first crosses paths with the Fringe division on a case, all careful procedure and moral seriousness where Peter Bishop is improvisation and shortcuts. He is thorough, principled, faintly humorless, the kind of investigator who follows rules because he actually believes in them, not because he's told to.

Seth Gabel plays him as the straight man's straight man, so buttoned-down he becomes funny by contrast, but never a joke himself. The writing uses his rigidity as a genuine virtue rather than a flaw to be cured, and Gabel lets small cracks of curiosity and warmth show through the procedure, making him easy to underestimate and then hard to stop watching.
