Koutarou Amon

Amon is a young investigator with the CCG's ghoul-hunting division, dogged and rigid about doing right by the badge. He grew up in an orphanage that shaped his sense of justice into something rulebound and unyielding, and he treats ghouls as monsters to be eliminated without much room for nuance. He's earnest, a little humorless, and dangerous.

Konishi plays him with a gruff sincerity that keeps him from being a simple hardliner; you can hear the conviction under the stiffness. The show uses him as the human face of the institution hunting the protagonist, and his rigid moral clarity becomes the most interesting thing about him once the story starts pressing on it.
