Kayce is the youngest Dutton son, a former Navy SEAL who has already tried to leave the ranch behind for a life with his wife Monica and their son on the reservation. He's restless, quick to violence when pushed, and caught between his father's empire and a family he chose for himself.
Grimes plays him as a man perpetually bracing for impact, all coiled stillness until something snaps. The show uses Kayce as its conscience-in-exile, the Dutton who sees the cost of the land clearest because he tried to walk away from it once already.
Kayce John Dutton was a main character on Yellowstone and is the protagonist for the spinoff Marshals. He is John and Evelyn Dutton's youngest son. He had a complex and tense relationship with his father, who increasingly regretted the emotional distance between them. Kayce was married to Monica and they have a son, Tate.
