Karl "Helo" Agathon

Helo is a Raptor pilot with the Galactica, decent and steady in a fleet full of moral compromise. Introduced stranded on occupied Caprica when the Cylons attack, he's left behind and presumed dead, forced to survive on a ruined world while trying to do right by the people—and the Cylon—he meets there.

He's the show's moral control group: put in the most extreme circumstances imaginable, he keeps choosing decency, and the writing never lets that be easy or naive. Penikett plays him without swagger, all quiet conscience, so his goodness feels earned rather than simple, and genuinely dangerous to maintain.
