Karen Roe

Karen Roe runs the local café in Tree Hill and raised her son Lucas alone after a teenage romance with Dan Scott fell apart before he was born. She's warm, plainspoken, and fiercely protective, the kind of mother who trades barbs with her son over the counter and still worries about every choice he makes.

Moira Kelly plays Karen as someone who has already survived her hardest chapter and built something steady from it, which gives the show a grounded adult center amid teenage melodrama.
