Julio Spring

Julio Spring moves through the halls of Heartstopper's school world as one more face figuring out where he fits, watching the central friendships form without pushing himself to the center of them. He seems content on the edges, observant, waiting to see who he might become close to.

Heartstopper's gift is treating even its smaller presences with tenderness rather than filler, and Joseph Balderrama brings an easy, unforced naturalism to Julio that suits the show's gentle register. He doesn't need big scenes to register as a real person occupying real space in this world.
